Sarra Kay is a full-time commercial arbitrator and mediator. She has over 35 years of dispute resolution experience.

Core practice areas are:

  • General commercial disputes

Background. Sarra was a solicitor at Clifford Chance and in-house counsel at JPMorgan Chase & Co where she worked with business leaders and on oversight committees as Managing Director, Head of EMEA Legal Commodities Group. 

Transactional/Advisory. Over the course of Sarra's career in dispute resolution, she has also been a transactional and advisory lawyer, negotiating, drafting and advising on complex shipping, trade and offshore energy and finance contracts (physicals and derivatives). 

Offshore. Sarra's offshore energy practice is derived from her transactional, finance and dispute resolution background, covering oil and gas E&P and related construction, equipment and services' contracts, including end of life.  

The "technology" revolution. Sarra has a particular interest in digital platforms; use of technology in financial services; fintech spanning cryptoassets and their transferability via distributed ledger technology (using a blockchain) and the enforceabiliy of smart contracts (particularly in the derivatives space).  

Personal. Sarra is married, loves music and has twins. The latter help her mediation practice! She supports the National Pro Bono Centre by sitting on various committees that raise money for the Centre.
